Inspired by the hit survival horror video game, Catnap is an artificially created being who has spent much of his life within the facilities of Playtime Co., pursuing a single goal: to serve as a soothing guide for the Smiling Critters programme and to find his place as the guardian of children’s sleep. A feline character with an unnervingly supple, disjointed gait, he grew up amidst the dark secrets of the Playcare orphanage, learning to conceal his true nature behind a permanent, broad smile and an extraordinary predatory instinct inherited from clandestine scientific experiments. Having become a fervent disciple of Experiment 1006 (The Prototype), he strives to eliminate any intruders and punish heretics within the abandoned premises by releasing his red soporific gas. This marks the start of a gruelling confrontation, in which the anthropomorphic monster uses its determination and nightmarish appearance to hunt the former employee through the shadows, becoming the essential antagonist for instilling an atmosphere of terror in the world of Poppy Playtime.
