Hatsune Miku - Hatsune Miku "Citrus" - Statue Noodle Stopper 14cm
Hatsune Miku is a virtual singer developed by the Japanese company Crypton Future Media. She is one of the Piapro Characters, alongside Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO and KAITO.
Hatsune Miku was originally conceived as a character associated with vocal synthesis software. Her voice is based on recordings by the Japanese actress Saki Fujita, which were subsequently processed to enable users to create their own songs.
Crypton presents Hatsune Miku as a virtual singer whose name can be interpreted as ‘the first sound of the future’. Her official profile depicts her as a 16-year-old girl, standing 158 cm tall, with a musical style primarily associated with J-pop and dance-pop.
But the Hatsune Miku phenomenon quickly went beyond the confines of the software itself. Creators from all over the world began producing songs, illustrations, music videos, animations and performances using her image and voice.
This culture of participatory creation became one of the fundamental elements of her identity. The term ‘Piapro’, used by Crypton, actually derives from the concept of ‘peer production’: different creators pooling their skills to produce new works together.
This artistic freedom explains why Hatsune Miku exists today in a multitude of visual interpretations. Unlike a character tied to a single story or a single costume, she can be depicted in futuristic, traditional, seasonal or entirely original settings.
The Citrus Ver. perfectly illustrates this creative flexibility. It transforms the turquoise aesthetic usually associated with Miku into a composition inspired by citrus fruits and summer, whilst retaining her instantly recognisable silhouette and long hair.
This Noodle Stopper figurine thus offers a particularly fresh and playful take on Hatsune Miku, whilst retaining the original functionality that sets this FuRyu range apart.
